At least you didn't have the added stress of being late to some appointment. But I wanted to mention that Berlin sidewalks are also littered with doggie-do. I was told that it is considered to bring good luck when you accidentally step in it--which seems highly counter-intuitive. But I think is supposed to made you feel better, somehow, when you find a mushy surprise underfoot. Glad you made it back inside! Man oh man, this is not the way to spend a day off!
